More Solutions Ltd has worked with leading architects, lighting designers, and electrical contractors to provide lighting control solutions since its incorporation in 2002. We supply professional-grade DALI-2 hardware and software for commercial, industrial, and specialist applications.
With expertise across high-profile national stadiums, office buildings, retail sheds, manufacturing facilities, and other commercial premises, More Solutions has developed and supported leading-edge solutions using a wide variety of lighting control protocols, including DALI, C-Bus, D-bus, and xComfort.
We are technology led, and not tied to one vendor
We are a software engineering company, with founders and employees from industrial and commercial software and control backgrounds. We retain significant experience in these fields, and as integrators we build solutions combining the strengths of these technologies — for example lighting control systems on a platform including SCADA, redundant databases, and web systems, communicating with (and providing a unifying interface to) a variety of lighting systems on the same site, from toilets and offices through to bowl floodlighting, with local controls through to building-wide schedules and overrides (such as event lighting and stadium concert blackouts).
We like open systems and protocols. We don’t like vendor lock-in
When selecting technology partners, we look for interoperability and for standard, open protocols. Integrating with high-level systems such as BMS includes protocols like OPC and BACnet. At the lighting-control level it is equally important that local network interfaces are open to communication from above.
We know DALI
Whilst DALI has been in existence for decades, its strengths as a unifying standard across multiple manufacturers have become especially significant during the widespread adoption of dimmable LED lighting. With DALI-2 also standardising input devices such as PIRs and switches, we believe that no other lighting technology offers the flexibility and interoperability that DALI and DALI-2 provide as standard.

DALI itself only defines the protocol and standards at the level of a single DALI line. Many manufacturers have developed products which allow multiple DALI lines to communicate with each other and with the wider world. Often called something like a zone or floor controller, the way these link to each other — and how (or whether) they integrate with other systems — is defined by the manufacturer.
We like RAPIX
Enter Ozuno Pty, an Australian company with decades of experience in the lighting control industry, and their RAPIX range of products. There are lots of features of the RAPIX system that appeal to us as integrators, but openness and interoperability are the key strengths for us. Rather than a proprietary cabling system or protocol between zone controllers, RAPIX uses industry-standard Ethernet, and for communications with other systems support for Modbus and BACnet is included as standard, along with a powerful and well-documented API.
Our decision to stock and sell RAPIX stems from a desire to make these products easier to obtain outside Australia. After all, why should Australians keep this technology to themselves? We are UK-focused, and happy to supply RAPIX hardware to other integrators.
We also deliver lighting control projects ourselves: DALI and RAPIX commissioning, migrations and upgrades, and building-wide control (including SCADA-based and bespoke head-ends). We are not an electrical contractor — we work with electrical installers, typically contracted to them or engaged by the site. See Project delivery for how that engagement usually works.
